A leader in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods industry approached collaborator Katie Lock and me with a problem.

They have a monthly employee reward and recognition program for a key business unit, Business Services. Anyone in the business can nominate anyone within Business Services. They want to expand the program so that anyone from the wider business can be nominated, but have some issues they want to overcome first./The existing solution was to submit a Microsoft Form for the nomination. While this did the job, challenges for the business included nomination management, a clinical process, a suboptimal user experience, a lack of interactivity, and a lack of nominees and award winners having a permanent record of their achievement.

We set out to build a proof of concept, social-media style of web application, that would solve these issues.
